Oak Mountain Eagles Varsity stole the lead late and defeated Hoover 5-4 on Thursday.
The Eagles scored one run on a sacrifice fly by Caleb Ragland in the third. They added four additional runs in the fourth on a wild pitch, a bases loaded walk by Caleb Ragland, a bunt single by Dylan Fraser, and a bases loaded hit by pitch by Ryan Reuse.
Hansen McCown earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Oak Mountain Eagles Varsity. He went six and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out five. Hunter Hall threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
The Eagles were led at the plate by Jack Wilson who was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Caleb Ragland had two RBI’s and Luke Percer had two runs scored. Ryan Reuse reached base safely in three of four attempts with a walk and two hit by pitch.
