An early lead helped Oak Mountain Eagles Varsity defeat Hueytown 13-4 on Saturday. Oak Mountain Eagles Varsity scored on a single by Ryan Reuse in the first inning and a single by Luke Percer in the second inning.

Oak Mountain Eagles Varsity pulled away for good with one run in the second inning. In the second Percer singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Oak Mountain Eagles Varsity put up seven runs in the third inning. Jackson Kimbrell, Drew Hill, and Caleb Ragland all drove in runs in the frame.

Turner Hughes started the game for Oak Mountain Eagles Varsity. He went three innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out three and walking one. Boston Smith was the winning pitcher for Oak Mountain Eagles Varsity. He surrendered three runs on three hits over two innings, striking out one and walking zero. Ragland and Hunter Hall entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Oak Mountain Eagles Varsity hit two home runs on the day. Jake Rivers had a four bagger in the fifth inning and Kimbrell put one out in the third inning.

The Eagles were led at the plate by Drew Hill who was 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, two RBI’s and two runs scored. Jack Wilson, Ragland, Rivers, and Kimbrell each had multiple hits. Jacob Fitzgerald, Landon Cato, Kimbrell, and Blake Sandidge each hit doubles.
